Agartala:In the interest of rail passengers’ convenience, the SUCI(C) on Wednesday submitted a memorandum containing seven demands, including an increase in the number of coaches in trains, to the Station Manager of Agartala Railway Station.
In their memorandum, party representatives highlighted the growing hardship faced by passengers due to overcrowding in trains, particularly during peak travel seasons, and demanded that additional coaches be attached to ease congestion and ensure a more comfortable journey for commuters.
Apart from the demand for increased coaches, the memorandum also raised several other issues concerning passenger amenities and railway services, urging the authorities to take prompt action to address the long-pending grievances of regular train travellers in the state.
Party leaders said that despite repeated representations in the past, many of the issues affecting rail passengers in Tripura had remained unresolved, causing continued inconvenience to the travelling public.
They further urged the railway administration to take the demands seriously and implement necessary measures at the earliest, warning that the organisation would intensify its movement if the issues raised were not addressed within a reasonable time frame.
The Station Manager assured the delegation that the demands would be forwarded to the appropriate railway authorities for consideration.
