AGARTALA: Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress President Neelkamal Saha, along with party leaders, met representatives of the Motor Stand Auto Syndicate on Thursday to discuss the state government’s recent decision banning auto-rickshaw parking at the Motor Stand.
During the meeting, Youth Congress leaders held discussions with auto drivers to understand the difficulties faced by them following the government’s move. The delegation reportedly assured the drivers of the party’s support in raising their concerns over the parking ban with the authorities concerned.
The government’s decision to restrict auto parking at the Motor Stand has affected a section of drivers who depend on the location for their daily livelihood, according to those present at the meeting.
Youth Congress leaders said they would continue engaging with the auto drivers’ body and explore ways to address the issue, though no specific course of action was announced following the meeting.
