Agartala: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura, will address a press conference today to brief media on the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll in the state, according to a notice issued by the Information, Cultural Affairs (ICA) Department.
The press meet will be held at 4:30 PM at the Press Conference Hall, Civil Secretariat, Agartala. The department’s News Bureau has invited representatives from all media houses to attend and cover the briefing.
Media houses covering the event are likely to receive further clarity on district-wise implementation and public outreach measures planned for the revision process.
The Special Intensive Revision is a periodic exercise carried out under the directives of the Election Commission of India to thoroughly update electoral rolls across the state. The process involves house-to-house verification by Booth Level Officers, inclusion of newly eligible voters, deletion of duplicate or deceased entries, and correction of existing voter details.
The CEO is expected to lay out the timeline, procedural framework, and key dates for the SIR exercise in Tripura during the briefing, along with instructions for the public on how to verify or update their electoral information.
