DHARMANAGAR: Intense sensation has gripped Tripura’s Dharmanagar following allegations of a deep-rooted conspiracy to misappropriate a valuable bulldozer (JCB) by fraudulently altering its identification metrics.
Acting on a specific complaint, the Dharmanagar police launched a targeted operation and successfully recovered the vehicle from the soybean factory area in Huruya. According to the vehicle’s rightful owner, the culprits had completely tampered with the original chassis, engine, and registration numbers, replacing them with fake identifiers to operate the bulldozer illegally under a false identity.
The needle of suspicion points heavily towards Dipan Nath, a local contractor and self-proclaimed leader of the ruling party’s Youth Morcha, who had initially rented the vehicle. The owner has alleged that Nath was the mastermind behind the plot to illegally seize ownership of the machinery.
While the police have taken custody of the bulldozer, a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the extent of the forgery. Local residents and the owner are demanding a deeper probe, suspecting the involvement of an organized vehicle-theft racket capable of fabricating official transport documents. No arrests have been made so far.
