Fatikroy: A high-level delegation comprising leadership from the Scheduled Caste (SC) Coordination Committee and the Fishermen’s Union on Tuesday visited Fatikroy following shocking allegations of a ₹25 lakh cash loot involving a state minister’s nephew.
The incident, which reportedly links back to departmental financial transactions, has sparked a major political storm in the region. The visiting delegation inspected the site and interacted with locals to gauge the ground reality. Expressing deep concern over the alleged misappropriation and security breach, the union leaders directly reached out to the Director of the concerned government department, demanding an immediate and transparent clarification regarding the entire episode.
Addressing the media, the committee representatives stated that public funds meant for community welfare and development must be strictly accounted for. “An allegation involving a whopping ₹25 lakh and high-profile relatives cannot be brushed under the carpet. We need an official explanation on how this occurred,” a union leader asserted.
The leaders warned of widespread democratic agitations across the state if the department fails to provide a clear explanation and if law enforcement delays arresting the culprits behind the massive cash heist.
