Agartala: In a major push toward modernization and self-reliance in the animal husbandry sector, a newly built Liquid Nitrogen Plant, along with its official administrative building, was formally inaugurated at Radhakishore (R.K.) Nagar in West Tripura on Tuesday.
The state-of-the-art facility was officially opened by the Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD) Minister, Sudhangshu Das. He was accompanied by local MLA Ratan Chakraborty, West District Acting Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil, and top senior officials from the department.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Minister Das emphasized the strategic importance of the facility, noting that a consistent supply of liquid nitrogen is critical for the long-term preservation of high-quality frozen semen. He highlighted that the plant will directly bolster the state’s Artificial Insemination (AI) breeding program, driving the genetic improvement of livestock.
The initiative is expected to ensure uninterrupted veterinary breeding services, significantly improving milk and cattle productivity across rural Tripura. Officials present stated that the plant marks a vital milestone in securing structural growth and sustainable livelihood opportunities for thousands of dairy farmers and livestock owners statewide.
