Manu Bazar : Manu Bazar Panchayat Deputy Pradhan Partha Chakraborty has been accused of assaulting local resident Krishna Das over an ongoing road construction dispute in the area. According to the allegation, Das was threatened and attacked after he raised objections to the manner in which the road construction was being carried out.
Das alleged that Chakraborty declared the road would be built by force, regardless of objections, and warned of “punishment” for anyone who tried to obstruct the work. The incident has triggered concern among residents over the use of intimidation tactics by panchayat representatives to push through local development works.
