RAMNAGAR LOCAL STAGES MARCH, DEMANDS CIVIC AMENITIES AND ROLLBACK OF POWER TARIFF HIKE

Ramnagar: Ramnagar Local unit on Saturday organised a march followed by a roadside public meeting, raising a set of civic demands including speedy completion of the pending Light House construction project and immediate withdrawal of the recently hiked electricity tariff, which they termed “abnormal.”

Participants also demanded regular disbursement of social welfare allowances, adequate supply of purified drinking water, restoration of disrupted connections, and regular cleaning of drains in the locality, alleging that these basic civic amenities have been neglected for a considerable period.

Speakers at the roadside meeting alleged that residents of the area have been facing hardship due to the stalled construction work and inadequate municipal upkeep, urging the concerned authorities to take swift corrective action.

The march passed through key points in the Ramnagar area before culminating in the public meeting, where local leaders reiterated their demands and warned of intensified agitation if the issues remain unaddressed.

No official response has yet been received from the electricity department or the civic body concerned regarding the demands raised.
