Agartala : A press meet-cum-workshop on the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was organised in West Tripura district, on the initiative of District Election Officer and District Magistrate Dr Vishal Kumar. The programme was held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 6 pm at Sonar Tori State Guest House in Agartala.
The workshop focused on key aspects of the upcoming SIR exercise, including revision of electoral rolls, inclusion of new voters’ names, verification of deceased or relocated voters, and steps to make the voter list more accurate and transparent. District administration officials briefed media representatives on the process, aiming to raise public awareness about the revision exercise and clarify related procedures ahead of its rollout.
The session also included a question-and-answer round, during which journalists sought clarifications on various aspects of the SIR process, helping to further explain the exercise to the public through media coverage.
Officials said the initiative was aimed at ensuring greater transparency and accuracy in the electoral rolls of West Tripura district, while encouraging eligible voters to actively participate in the revision process once it formally begins.
