BISHALGARH: Police vehicles parked outside Bishalgarh police station have reportedly been causing traffic congestion on the national highway for several months, with commuters alleging that officers themselves are flouting the very parking rules they enforce against the public.
According to local drivers, a shortage of parking space within the police station premises has led personnel to routinely park their vehicles along the national highway, allegedly obstructing the movement of passenger vehicles and emergency service vehicles on both sides of the road.
Commuters claimed that despite the resulting congestion occurring right outside the station’s main gate, no police officials were seen present at the spot to manage or address the situation.
Locals pointed out the apparent contradiction, noting that strict action is normally taken against members of the public for illegal parking on the highway at the same location, and questioned who would be held accountable when police vehicles themselves are involved.
A vehicle driver brought the matter to the media’s attention on Thursday morning.
