Agartala: East Police Station has achieved a significant breakthrough in a chain-snatching case reported from the Bonkumari area, arresting one accused along with the motorcycle used in the crime.
The arrest was made from near the Radhanagar area following a focused investigation launched after a woman lodged a complaint alleging that her gold chain had been snatched in Bonkumari.
Acting on the complaint, police began working on the case, gathering information from multiple sources to identify those responsible. During the course of the investigation, officers received a crucial lead that led them to the suspect. A raid was subsequently carried out in the Radhanagar area, where the accused was apprehended along with the bike allegedly used to carry out the snatching.
Police are now questioning the detained individual in an effort to gather further details about any other persons who may have been involved in the incident. The recovered motorcycle is also being treated as an important piece of evidence and is being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
East Police Station OC Krishnadhan Sarkar confirmed the arrest, adding that police are probing whether other individuals were involved and are looking into all related aspects of the case.
