Shantirbazar: A passenger waiting shed at Patichhari Drop Gate, built under the constituency development fund of Shantirbazar MLA Pramod Reang, has fallen into a state of neglect due to prolonged lack of maintenance, prompting residents to demand immediate action.
The shed, constructed to provide relief to commuters, is now overrun with overgrown bushes, while its seating area and tiled floor remain littered with accumulated garbage. Locals said the absence of regular cleaning has rendered the structure increasingly unusable, a concern made more pressing by the fact that schoolchildren are among its daily users, waiting there for transport every day.
Residents pointed out that a facility meant to serve the public loses its purpose entirely if left in such condition, and urged that the shed be restored to a usable state without further delay.
An appeal has since been made to the local village committee, panchayat, and relevant authorities to carry out an immediate cleanup of the shed.
MLA Pramod Reang has been credited by locals for his continued development work in the Shantirbazar constituency. Attention now turns to how swiftly the administration responds to the residents’ appeal.
