GOLAGHATI: Kanchanmala Lakshmichhara Ramkrishna Higher Secondary School, under Golaghati Assembly constituency, has come under scrutiny after parents alleged severe infrastructure deficiencies, including the absence of seating arrangements for mid-day meals and clean drinking water.
When journalists visited the school on Monday morning, parents told media that students are forced to eat their mid-day meals standing under the open sky or under trees, raising concerns over insects contaminating food. They added that the absence of a proper drinking water facility compels students to carry water from home.
Parents further alleged a shortage of teachers in the primary section, claiming there is no dedicated teacher for the nursery division, forcing younger children to attend classes alongside older students — a situation they said deprives nursery students of age-appropriate education.
Parents claimed the school’s problems have persisted for a long time without intervention from the school education department or local elected representatives. They urged the state government and the education department to take urgent steps to resolve the infrastructure gaps.
