Mahila Congress Marches for Women’s Safety, Justice for Manisha Das

Agartala: The Tripura Pradesh Mahila Congress took out a protest march on the streets today demanding ensured safety for women across the state and justice in the case of Manisha Das, culminating in a deputation submitted to the Director General of Police.

The march, attended by party workers and members in large numbers, was led by Mahila Congress President Sarbani Ghosh Chakraborty. Participants raised slogans demanding swift and impartial justice for Manisha Das, while also calling for stronger measures to ensure women’s security in the state.

In the deputation submitted to the DGP, the Mahila Congress urged the police administration to expedite the investigation into the case and ensure that the guilty are brought to justice without delay. They also demanded comprehensive steps to strengthen law and order and create a safer environment for women across Tripura.

Speaking on the occasion, Sarbani Ghosh Chakraborty alleged that incidents of crime against women have been on the rise in the state, and accused the administration of failing to provide adequate protection and timely justice to victims.

The Mahila Congress warned of intensified protests if concrete action is not taken soon on their demands.
