Madhupur Police Nab Bangladeshi National, Agent in Fresh Crackdown on Illegal Border Crossing By DA Newsdesk

Madhupur: In a fresh success against illegal infiltration and border crossing, Madhupur police station arrested a Bangladeshi national and an Indian resident of Mayapur, Kolkata, allegedly while the former was attempting to return to Bangladesh via the same illicit route used to enter India, reportedly with the help of agents. Both accused were produced before the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Court on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police sources, the Bangladeshi national has been identified as Ashish Chandra Pal, a resident of the Ghoshpara area under Sadar Dakshin police station in Comilla district, Bangladesh. He allegedly entered India illegally through the Khowai border on July 18.

Police said that in order to return to Bangladesh, Pal reportedly contacted an agent based in Mayapur, Kolkata, who in turn put him in touch with another alleged agent, identified as Babul Das, a resident of the Konaban Chakbasta area in Tripura.

Investigations into the alleged trafficking network are said to be ongoing, with police probing the broader chain of agents allegedly facilitating illegal cross-border movement.
