AGARTALA: A conference on economic empowerment and animal husbandry was held on Thursday, with Minister Sudhangshu Das and other distinguished guests in attendance.
The event was themed “Empowering Women Through Livestock”, highlighting animal husbandry as a pathway to financial independence for women, particularly in rural areas. Guests toured the display stalls and interacted with participants at the venue.
Livestock-based activities such as dairy, poultry and small-animal rearing are widely seen as a means of giving rural households a steady secondary income and women a stronger role in the local economy.
