Khowai,Tripura: Left-affiliated youth and student organisations staged a protest rally in Khowai on Saturday evening, highlighting a range of national and international issues and questioning the Centre’s handling of recent developments.
According to the organisers, the protest was organised in response to the reported attack on three Indian oil tankers, which allegedly claimed the lives of three Indian sailors, and the growing instability in the Strait of Hormuz. The organisations criticised the Central Government’s response to these developments and demanded greater accountability.
The rally commenced at around 7:00 PM from Nipen Chakraborty Avenue and passed through several key areas of Khowai town, including the busy Subhash Park Market, before concluding at its starting point.
Among those present were DYFI State President Palash Bhowmik, leader Gautam Pal, SFI leader Sagar Das, along with several activists and supporters of the Left youth and student organisations. Participants raised slogans highlighting their demands and expressed their opposition to the Centre’s policies.
