AGARTALA: In a major step towards digitising labour welfare services, the Tripura Labour Department on Friday launched a web-based application and mobile app under the Nirman Shramik Kalyan Prakalp, aimed at easing registration and access to welfare benefits for construction workers.
The programme was inaugurated by Labour, YAS, Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Tinku Roy at Pragna Bhavan, Agartala.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Roy said the new digital platform was launched to make labour welfare and digital services more accessible and transparent. He said construction workers would now find registration, welfare benefits, and other essential services easier, faster, and more transparent through the app.
Calling it a significant step towards ensuring workers’ rights, Roy said the initiative combines technology with social responsibility to safeguard the interests of workers and enhance their quality of life.
Officials said the platform is expected to streamline processes such as worker registration and welfare scheme applications, cutting down delays associated with manual paperwork.
The launch marks another milestone in the state’s ongoing push to bring labour welfare services under a digital framework.
