MOHANBHOG: Residents of Khamarbari in Ward No. 3 under Kalamkhet Gram Panchayat, Mohanbhog R.D. Block, are facing severe hardship as the locality’s main road remains in a state of disrepair, with large stretches turned into mud and waterlogged tracks.
According to local residents, around 80 to 90 families in the area are forced to navigate the broken road daily, whether on foot, bicycle, motorbike, or four-wheeler, risking accidents and injury with every trip. Portions of the road have deteriorated so severely that they are now nearly impassable.
Residents alleged that despite repeated appeals to the administration for repair or conversion of the road into a paved surface, no action has been taken so far. They said the road’s earlier brick-soling has completely worn away due to prolonged neglect, and even light rainfall renders the stretch treacherous.
Locals expressed frustration over what they described as continued administrative apathy towards a road of considerable public importance, calling for urgent intervention before the situation worsens further, particularly with the monsoon season underway.
Residents have urged the local administration and panchayat authorities to take immediate steps to repair the road, warning that continued inaction could lead to serious accidents.
