Kailashahar Court Sentences Man to 10 Years for Raping Mentally Challenged Girl

KAILASHAHAR: A local court here has sentenced Shankar Das, alias Abhi, a resident of Gournagar in Kailashahar, to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment after convicting him in a case involving the rape of a mentally challenged girl.

According to case details, Das was accused of sexually assaulting the minor victim, who suffers from a mental disability, leading to the registration of a case against him under relevant sections of law. Following investigation, the matter was taken up for trial, with the prosecution presenting evidence before the court.

After examining the evidence and testimonies presented during the trial, the court found Das guilty of the offence and pronounced the 10-year sentence.
