International Yoga Day Observed at Hapania, CM Saha Leads Celebrations

Agartala: International Yoga Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Hapania International Exhibition Ground here on Saturday, drawing the participation of senior state dignitaries and hundreds of yoga enthusiasts.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended the event as the chief guest, joined by Minister Tinku Roy and other officials. The gathering performed a series of yoga asanas and breathing exercises as part of the nationwide observance, which aims to promote physical and mental well-being through the ancient practice.

International Yoga Day is observed every year on June 21, following a 2014 United Nations resolution recognising the day to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga across the world. Events were held simultaneously across Tripura, with government departments, schools, and local bodies organising sessions to encourage public participation.

The Hapania event saw structured yoga demonstrations led by trained instructors, with participants ranging from students to senior citizens taking part in the collective exercise routine.

Officials reiterated the state government’s commitment to promoting yoga as part of public health initiatives, encouraging citizens to adopt the practice for a healthier lifestyle.
