BSF Jawans Perform Yoga on Maitri Bridge, Spread Message of Health and Harmony

Sabroom:BSF personnel of “F” Company, 114 Battalion, observed the 12th International Yoga Day with a special yoga session on the historic Indo-Bangla Maitri Bridge here on Sunday, marking the occasion at a site symbolic of cross-border friendship.

Jawans took part enthusiastically in the programme, practising a range of yoga asanas and pranayama techniques under the open sky at the strategically important border location.

Addressing reporters after the session, Deputy Commandant R.L. Meena of the 114 Battalion underlined the importance of International Yoga Day, stating that yoga plays a vital role in maintaining both physical and mental well-being. He added that regular practice helps jawans stay fit and alert even while performing demanding border duties.

Meena further noted that holding the programme on the Maitri Bridge, which stands as a symbol of friendship between India and Bangladesh, lent the event special significance.

The initiative, organised as part of nationwide Yoga Day celebrations, sought to convey a dual message — promoting healthy living among security personnel while reinforcing the spirit of international goodwill along the border.
