GRP Seizes 15 Kg Cannabis at Udaipur Railway Station

Agartala:Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered approximately 15 kg of cannabis from Udaipur railway station on Sunday during a routine search operation, sparking a stir among commuters and station personnel.

According to police, officers conducting regular checks noticed three abandoned bags on the platform during their inspection. Upon examining the suspicious bags, personnel discovered the substantial quantity of cannabis stored within them.

No suspects were apprehended at the scene, with police suspecting that individuals connected to the contraband fled the area upon detecting police presence during the checking operation.

The matter was subsequently reported to Radhakishorepur police station, whose personnel arrived at the location, seized the narcotics, and transported them to the station for legal processing. The cannabis has been confiscated through due legal procedure.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the drugs and identify individuals connected to the trafficking network. Authorities are examining various leads to establish the supply chain and apprehend those responsible.

Security measures at the railway station have been intensified following the incident, with continued surveillance aimed at preventing similar drug trafficking attempts through the transit hub.
