Agartala: Former Union Minister Pratima Bhoumik issued a strong warning to the local administration during her visit to the Govind Ballabh Pant (GB) Hospital on Thursday. Addressing reporters, she declared that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers are neither orphans nor abandoned, emphasizing that she stands firmly by their side as their “Didi.”
Bhoumik stated that if the police and administrative authorities fail to take immediate and decisive action against those targeting party members, BJP workers will be forced to take matters into their own hands to protect themselves. Her sharp remarks come amid rising political tensions and recent clashes involving party cadres across the state.
During her hospital visit, the former Union Minister closely monitored the medical treatment being provided to injured party workers. She specifically checked on the physical condition of Ispita Namasudra, who is currently undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in a recent incident. Bhoumik also interacted with several other distressed patients at the facility, ensuring they were receiving proper care and medical attention from the hospital staff.
