Agartala: A large turnout of devotees was witnessed at a Shiva temple on Monday, the last Monday of the holy month of Shravan, as worshippers gathered in huge numbers to offer prayers and perform rituals.
The final Shravan Monday, considered especially auspicious for devotees of Lord Shiva, saw an overflowing crowd throng the temple premises from the early hours, with visitors queuing up to offer water, bel leaves, milk and other traditional offerings at the shrine.
Devotees were seen observing fasts and chanting prayers through the day, with many arriving in groups to seek blessings on the concluding Monday of the sacred month, which holds particular religious significance in the Hindu calendar.
Temple authorities are learnt to have made arrangements to manage the heavy footfall, though further details on the specific measures could not be immediately confirmed.
The Shravan month is widely observed across temples with special evening aartis, decorations and extended visiting hours, drawing devotees from across the region through its duration.
