Female Thief Held, Stolen Gold Ornaments Worth Over ₹2 Lakh Recovered in Agartala

Agartala: Police from Agartala West Police Station have arrested a woman on charges of theft and recovered gold ornaments worth over ₹2 lakh, following a complaint filed by a resident of Krishnanagar area.

The complainant, identified as Nirupama Debbarma, had approached Agartala West Police Station with a written complaint alleging that gold ornaments had been stolen from her house. Acting swiftly on the complaint, police launched an investigation to trace the culprit and recover the stolen valuables.

Following a systematic probe, the police succeeded in apprehending a woman allegedly involved in the theft and recovered the missing gold ornaments from her possession. The market value of the recovered items is estimated to be upwards of ₹2 lakh.

Briefing the media on the development, Officer-in-Charge of Agartala West Police Station, Sanjit Sen, provided details of the case, highlighting the prompt action taken by his team in resolving the matter and apprehending the accused.

The arrested woman has been taken into custody for further interrogation, and police said efforts are underway to ascertain whether she was involved in similar thefts elsewhere.

Legal proceedings against the accused are currently underway.
