Farmers’ Welfare Government’s Top Priority, Says Minister Sudhanshu Das

Kamalpur:State Fisheries and Animal Resource Development Minister Sudhanshu Das said that the overall welfare of farmers and marginalized sections of society remains the government’s primary objective, describing farmers as the true providers and benefactors of ordinary people.

Speaking at the “Khet Bachao” (Save the Farmland) campaign event held at Salema Community Hall in Kamalpur sub-division on Thursday, the Minister emphasized that the government’s policies were being shaped with the welfare of farmers and underprivileged communities at their core. He stated that no society could progress without ensuring the well-being of those who work to feed the nation.

Das further highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening agricultural support systems and extending welfare measures to the state’s most vulnerable populations, asserting that inclusive development remained central to the administration’s vision.

The event saw participation from local farmers, party workers, and officials associated with the campaign, which is aimed at raising awareness about the protection and sustainable use of farmland. The Minister’s remarks were well received by attendees, many of whom welcomed the government’s continued focus on agrarian and rural welfare issues.

The “Khet Bachao” campaign is expected to continue with similar awareness programmes in other parts of the state in the coming days.
