AGARTALA: The Tripura Electricity Consumer Association has accused the state electricity corporation of cheating consumers, alleging irregularities in billing and service delivery.
Members of the association submitted a deputation to officials of the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL), pressing a six-point charter of demands aimed at addressing what they described as long-standing grievances of electricity consumers across the state.
While the specific demands listed in the deputation were not immediately available, association representatives reportedly alleged that consumers continue to face issues including inflated billing, poor grievance redressal mechanisms, and lack of transparency in the corporation’s dealings with the public.
The deputation was submitted amid growing complaints from consumers over the functioning of the electricity corporation, sources said. It remains unclear what response, if any, TSECL officials gave to the association’s demands at the time of submission.
Details regarding the association’s specific grievances and the corporation’s official response are awaited.
