DELHI TEEN ALLEGES GANG RAPE NEAR KALKAJI MANDIR: MEN POSED AS POLICE

Delhi : A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men posing as policemen at Astha Kunj Park, near Delhi’s Kalkaji Mandir, on Monday evening. Police said the survivor and a male friend had gone to the temple for darshan before entering the park, where three men, aged around 25 to 30 and claiming to be police personnel, allegedly separated her from her friend and took her to a secluded area.

One accused, identified as Asif, was arrested after an exchange of fire with police in the nearby Amar Colony area; he sustained a gunshot injury and was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre for treatment. The other two accused remain at large, and police say efforts are underway to trace them.

A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and investigators are examining CCTV footage from in and around the park. The survivor’s identity has not been disclosed, in line with standard protocol.

The incident is the latest in a string of sexual crimes against minors reported in the capital this month, prompting fresh concern over public safety near the city’s parks and temple precincts.
