KAMALPUR: A house belonging to a CPI(M) leader was reportedly destroyed in a fire allegedly caused by an act of sabotage, with the party accusing the ruling party of orchestrating the attack, sparking fresh tension in Kamalpur.
On Monday, CPI(M) workers staged a road blockade in the Chankap area under the 46-Surma constituency, protesting what they described as yet another incident of political violence targeting the party in the region.
Party leaders alleged that the arson was a deliberate act of intimidation carried out by ruling party supporters, though no independent confirmation of the allegation was immediately available. The blockade caused disruption to traffic movement in the area before being called off.
