BISHALGARH: The CPI(M) Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Committee organised a large rally here on Friday, protesting rising prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas, and electricity, along with alleged irregularities in the education and health sectors.
The rally began at 12 noon from in front of Durgadas Sikdar Smriti Bhavan in Bishramganj and proceeded through the local market area before culminating in a deputation to the Sepahijala District Magistrate.
According to CPI(M) Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Committee secretary Parthapratim Majumdar, the deputation carried nine demands concerning issues of public importance, though specific details of each demand were not immediately available.
The protest reflects the party’s continued opposition to price rises affecting essential commodities and services, framed by the CPI(M) as part of a broader pattern of governance failures across multiple sectors.
District administration officials are expected to respond to the deputation in due course.
