Congress Slams Centre Over “12 Years of Corruption,” Alleges Favours to Ambani, Adani

AGARTALA: The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee held a press conference here, with party president Ashish Kumar Saha launching a sharp attack on the central government, alleging that its 12 years in power have been marked by corruption across all sectors.

Saha alleged that the government has worked to exploit the general public while extending benefits and opportunities to industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. He claimed corruption pervades sectors including education and health, alongside what he described as harassment of citizens in various forms.

The Congress leader further alleged that the government’s tenure has amounted to nothing but plunder, citing alleged commission-based dealings and mechanisms he claimed were designed to siphon public funds. He also accused the government of resorting to “false rhetoric” on multiple issues.

Saha’s remarks form part of the opposition party’s continuing criticism of the central government’s policies and governance record.

The central government has not yet responded to the allegations.
