Chakma Customary Law Body Meets Chief Minister with List of Demands

AGARTALA: A delegation from the Tripura Customary Law Coordination Committee met the Chief Minister at his official residence on [date] to present a set of demands concerning the Chakma community.

The delegation was represented by Shanti Bikash Chakma, a prominent social leader (Samajpati) of the Chakma community, who briefed the media in detail following the meeting on the issues raised before the Chief Minister.

The organisation is understood to have placed several demands pertaining to the preservation and recognition of Chakma customary law and practices, along with matters concerning the welfare and development of the community. Members of the committee urged the state government to take up their concerns on priority and ensure appropriate action.

The Chief Minister assured the delegation that their demands would be examined and appropriate steps taken in consultation with the concerned departments.
