AGARTALA: Tension gripped the Aralia Shalbagan locality this evening after two youths and two women were reportedly attacked, allegedly by Manish Chakraborty, Mandal President of the BJP Yuva Morcha for Ward 13, Pratapgarh, and Diptanu Sharma, said to be active in Ward 27, residents alleged.
According to locals, the area’s residents had allegedly been facing harassment from the duo for some time, which reportedly culminated in this evening’s incident. The situation in the locality remained tense following the alleged attack, with residents expressing distress over the developments.
Police personnel from East Police Station reportedly reached the spot soon after the incident was reported, and an investigation into the matter is said to be underway.
