BISHALGARH: The Bishalgarh sub-divisional administration issued a final warning on Thursday to vacate encroached land along the national highway at Charilam Bazar, signalling a stern crackdown on illegal occupation of road-side space.
Deputy Collector and Magistrate of Bishalgarh sub-division Prasenjit Das, along with Bishramganj Revenue Circle DCM Gobinda Debbarma and Revenue Inspector Shankar Sharma, visited the site and directed occupants to clear the highway land without further delay.
Officials reportedly told shopkeepers and other occupants that this was the last notice being served, and that no further extensions would be granted before enforcement action is taken. The directive is aimed at easing traffic congestion and ensuring unobstructed movement along the highway stretch, which has reportedly been affected by encroachments over an extended period.
The administration is said to have previously issued similar notices, though occupants had continued operating from the site. Officials warned that non-compliance this time would result in forced eviction by the administration.
Local traders are expected to respond to the notice in the coming days as the deadline for vacating the land approaches.
