All India Kisan Sabha State Conference Begins at Agartala Town Hall

AGARTALA: The state conference of the All India Kisan Sabha got underway at Agartala Town Hall amid palpable enthusiasm, drawing representatives, leaders and workers of farmers’ organisations from across Tripura.

The conference is set to hold detailed deliberations on issues confronting the farming community, including agricultural distress, fair pricing of produce, the crisis in agricultural output, and farmers’ rights. Organisers said the gathering will also finalise the movement’s future course of action, including forthcoming demands and programmes to be taken up by the Kisan Sabha in the coming days.

Workers and supporters of the organisation turned up in large numbers at the Town Hall premises, reflecting strong grassroots enthusiasm around the event. Leaders of the organisation said the state conference would play a crucial role in shaping the roadmap for future agitations and campaigns centred on the problems and demands of Tripura’s farmers.

The conference comes amid continuing concerns among farmer groups in the state over remunerative prices and agricultural policy.
