Agartala:The All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) organized a protest demonstration in front of Agartala City Center near Paradise Chowmuhani, raising its voice against alleged corruption in the NEET examination and the state government’s decision to hand over government schools to private organizations.
Activists and members of the student body gathered at the venue holding placards and raising slogans, demanding accountability over irregularities that have plagued the conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in recent times. They alleged that lapses in the examination process had compromised the future of thousands of students across the country who appeared for the test with hopes of pursuing medical education.
Alongside the NEET issue, AIDSO activists strongly opposed the state government’s recent decision to transfer the management of government schools to private entities, calling it a move that would undermine the accessibility of quality education for economically weaker sections of society. Speakers at the protest argued that privatization of education would disproportionately affect students from low-income families who rely on government schools for affordable schooling.
The organization demanded that the state government immediately roll back its decision on school privatization and called for a thorough, transparent investigation into the NEET examination irregularities to restore public confidence in the testing process.
The protest concluded peacefully, with AIDSO leaders warning that they would intensify their movement if the government failed to respond to their demands in the near future.
