AGARTALA: To celebrate the birth anniversaries of cultural icons Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam, a vibrant sit-and-draw competition was organized at Pragati Vidyabhavan. The event was held under the initiative of the All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO).
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from a large number of students across various age groups. Armed with colors and sketchpads, the young artists beautifully brought to life themes reflecting the literary masterpieces, humanism, and revolutionary spirits of the two legendary poets who shaped the cultural fabric of Bengal and beyond.
Speaking on the occasion, AIDSO representatives highlighted the importance of introducing the younger generation to the philosophies of Tagore and Nazrul, especially in today’s fast-changing world. They emphasized that art is a powerful medium to instill values of secularism, unity, and social consciousness in young minds.
School authorities praised the student body’s initiative, noting that such co-curricular activities help foster creativity alongside academic learning. The event concluded with an evaluation of the artwork by a panel of judges, followed by the distribution of certificates and prizes to the winners.
