NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke was detained by Delhi Police inside an aircraft at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Saturday, soon after his flight from Mumbai landed in the national capital.
According to the party, two other CJP leaders, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, were also taken into custody from the aircraft. Police personnel entered the plane after it touched down.
In a video shared by the party, Dipke is heard telling the officers that the leaders had come prepared for arrest and that they could go ahead. He said CJP leaders were being treated like criminals.
As officials escorted him out of the airport, Dipke was accidentally struck in the face by a microphone amid a crowd of reporters, visuals from the spot showed.
