AGARTALA: Tripura was set to hold the Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra on October 7 under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service, from Gujarat Chief Minister to Prime Minister.
To ensure the programme’s success, a review meeting was held at the Secretariat on September 29 under Minister Sushanta Chowdhury. MLA Abhishek Debroy, TIDC Chairman Nabadal Banik and officials of various departments attended.
Chowdhury said the yatra aims to reaffirm a strong commitment to service-oriented work, and stressed greater participation of college students and youth. He said the yatra would conclude before 11 am on October 7, after which the Prime Minister’s address would be broadcast live from 11 am. He appealed for public cooperation.
Information and Cultural Affairs Secretary Kiran Gitte and Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya briefed the minister on arrangements. The programme will include a procession centred on the Seva Jyoti, along with a cycle and bike rally.
The yatra falls within a month-long Seva Pakhwada in Tripura, running from September 17 to October 17.
