Agartala,Tripura: Group-C and Group-D employees, among other categories, will be eligible for a festival advance of up to ₹20,000. Anganwadi workers and home guards have been allotted ₹5,000, while ASHA workers will receive ₹2,000. The government said the decision is expected to benefit around 1 lakh employees.
The festival allowance has also been raised by ₹300 over last year’s rate. For Group-C, Group-D, DRW staff and pensioners, the allowance has gone up from ₹2,100 to ₹2,400. Anganwadi workers, home guards, SPOs and a few other categories will receive ₹2,610.
The state’s total expenditure on the festival allowance is estimated at around ₹47.16 crore, benefiting approximately 1,48,501 employees and 85,916 pensioners and family pensioners. An additional ₹183.77 crore is earmarked for the festival advance disbursement.
Officials said the move, announced ahead of Durga Puja, is expected to add to the festive atmosphere among government employees across the state.
