BISHALGARH: Several people were reportedly injured on Thursday after three vehicles collided near Gokulnagar Road Matha Bridge on the national highway, according to eyewitnesses.
The accident occurred around 10:30 am when a Maruti Alto car (registration TR 01AC0502), allegedly travelling at high speed from Bishalgarh, collided head-on with a goods vehicle (registration TR 03G1642). A Maruti Eco car following behind reportedly then struck the same vehicle, resulting in a three-way collision.
Eyewitnesses said several people sustained serious injuries in the crash. Locals who rushed to the spot after hearing the impact helped pull the injured from the vehicles. Bishalgarh fire service personnel, alerted soon after, arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to the subdivisional hospital.
The national highway remained blocked for a considerable period, causing a long traffic jam in the area.
