AGARTALA: Four Left-leaning student and youth organizations held a joint protest march in the city, as part of a nationwide call by Left student and youth wings for September 15 demanding education and employment opportunities for the country’s youth.
The nationwide call was given jointly by the Student Federation of India (SFI) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) against unemployment and education policy shortfalls, with coordinated protest actions organized across states including West Bengal, Kerala, and Tripura.
In Tripura, the Left Front’s four affiliated wings — SFI, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the Tripura Students’ Union (TSU), and the Tribal Youth Federation (TYF) — have in recent months repeatedly organized joint demonstrations across the state raising demands over education, recruitment, and youth employment, including a rally in Khowai in August.
Left leaders have consistently accused the state government of stalling recruitment processes and failing to address the aspirations of unemployed youth, calling for urgent policy action.
