KAILASHAHAR: A case has been filed against a teacher, referred to as “Chhoto Hujur,” at Fulbarikandi Hafizia Madrasa in Barkhala village, Unakoti district, after allegations surfaced that a minor student was brutally beaten there.
The student’s father, Manaf Ali, filed a written complaint at Kailashahar Police Station on Sunday night, alleging his son was beaten for failing to answer a question during studies, leaving marks on his hands and legs. The family claims the student had faced repeated beatings over an extended period.
Ali said that when he visited the madrasa to question the assault, he too was allegedly mistreated. Though the madrasa reportedly assured a resolution through discussion, the family says none was reached, prompting the police complaint.
Speaking to the media, Ali said disciplining a student for academic lapses is understandable, but inhumane beating in the name of education is unacceptable, demanding strict action against the accused.
Allegations have also emerged of pressure being exerted on individuals to remove related posts after the incident surfaced on social media, raising concerns over a possible cover-up.
Madrasa authorities could not be reached for comment. Police investigation is underway.
