AGARTALA: Tipra Motha Party-nominated candidates have won unopposed across all 10 Village Committees under Lefunga Block, falling within the constituency of CEM Runiel Debbarma, as no other party filed nominations against them.
According to details shared by Lefunga Block Returning Officer Prasenjit Bhowmik while speaking to the media, none of the NDA alliance’s other constituents — BJP and IPFT — nor opposition parties CPI(M) and Congress submitted nomination papers for any of the 10 Village Committees in the block. Tipra Motha, also part of the ruling NDA alliance in Tripura, was the only party to field candidates.
The Returning Officer elaborated on the complete nomination process undertaken for the Village Committee elections in the block, confirming that with no rival candidates in the fray, the Tipra Motha nominees have been declared winners unopposed.
The development comes as Village Committee elections are underway across Tripura, with political parties across the state actively contesting seats in most other blocks. The unopposed victories in Lefunga Block mark a notable outcome within the constituency represented by CEM Runiel Debbarma.
