Agartala: A special programme marking Rakhi Bandhan, the festival symbolising the sacred bond and love between brothers and sisters, was organised at Prachyabharati School in Agartala by Ward No. 23 of Agartala Municipal Corporation.
Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee and Ward 23 Councillor Manimukta Bhattacharjee attended the event, along with ward workers at various levels and other dignitaries.
A festive atmosphere prevailed through the programme, with those present tying rakhis on each other’s wrists as a mark of mutual brotherhood, harmony and goodwill. The gesture reflected the spirit of the festival, bringing together residents and ward workers in a shared celebration.
Speakers at the event underlined the significance of Rakhi Bandhan and called for strengthening bonds of unity, harmony and mutual cooperation within society. They emphasised that festivals of this nature serve as an occasion to reinforce social ties beyond the immediate context of family relationships.
