CPI(M) Files Nominations In Shantirbazar Ahead Of ADC Village Polls

SHANTIRBAZAR: CPI(M) became the first party to submit nomination papers for the upcoming ADC village elections, filing candidature in Shantirbazar following the announcement of the poll schedule.

On Thursday, around 45 CPI(M)-nominated candidates from 7 of the 14 villages under Bokafa block submitted their nomination papers, which were handed over to the Additional Block Development Officer of Bokafa block. The villages covered on the day were Patichhari, Takmachhara, Bircharandranagar, Rajapur, Manu, and Salthangmanu ADC village. Candidates for the remaining seven villages under the block are expected to file their nominations in the coming days.

Briefing the media after the filing, CPI(M) party secretary Ashutosh Debnath said that once the nomination process concludes, the party will highlight issues of underdevelopment across the ADC area, including problems related to roads, employment, health services, drinking water, and education.

Debnath said the party would appeal to voters to help CPI(M) candidates secure a decisive victory in the ADC elections, with the stated aim of addressing these long-standing local problems and driving development in the region.
