Kalyanpur : A man from a minority community was allegedly beaten to death on suspicion of cattle theft in the Bagber area under Kalyanpur police station limits, according to local sources.
The deceased has been identified as Jalil Rahman, 45, son of Habibur Rahman, a resident of the Ghilatali Bazar area.
According to reports, Rahman was attacked by a group of people late last night after he was allegedly caught stealing cattle. He reportedly succumbed to his injuries following the assault. Police have registered the incident and are currently investigating the circumstances of the death, though no official statement has been issued so far confirming the sequence of events.
As of the latest update, Rahman’s body remains at the morgue of Kalyanpur Hospital, where it is likely to undergo a post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family.
