AGARTALA: The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) held a key meeting at its conference hall on Tuesday to review civic preparedness ahead of Durga Puja, with Mayor Deepak Majumder directing officials and councillors to ensure uninterrupted services during the festive period.
The meeting focused on managing the additional strain that puja crowds place on traffic, cleanliness, drinking water, lighting, drainage and road infrastructure. Officials discussed measures to keep services active and effective both in the run-up to and during the puja days, particularly around pandals and crowded public spaces across the city.
Majumder directed officials and councillors to closely monitor conditions in their respective areas and act swiftly wherever needed. He said Durga Puja belongs to everyone and that the corporation would work on a priority basis to ensure no civic issues disrupt the festivities, with public convenience and safety at the centre of the plan.
The meeting reviewed overall puja preparations and reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to coordinated action across all levels of staff to keep Agartala clean and citizen-friendly through the festive season.
