Agartala: The Election Commission has released the complete schedule for the upcoming election, with the official notification to be issued on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, formally setting the electoral process in motion.
As per the schedule, candidates can file nomination papers until September 8, with the Returning Officer accepting nominations between 11 AM and 3 PM on that day. Scrutiny of nomination papers will follow on September 9, while candidates wishing to withdraw from the contest have until 3 PM on September 11 to do so.
Polling, if required, will be held on September 28 from 7 AM to 4 PM. Provision has also been made for re-polling at any centre where necessary, scheduled for October 3.
Vote counting will take place on October 5, marking the final stage of the process, with results to be declared progressively through the day.
